Studying here gives me a lot of experience and opportunities to figure out what I want to do as far as my career. I’ve also found my people on campus and gotten involved with different organizations, especially those focused on the Black student community.

Diversity is at the core of our culture.

We’re dedicated to ensuring that all members of the campus community have the resources and support to be successful. The Division of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and several student organizations work to create and sustain a welcoming, inclusive, and equitable campus climate. The Multicultural Center also has events and programming that celebrate different cultures and perspectives.

Our campus has also won the Higher Education Excellence in Diversity (HEED) Award from INSIGHT into Diversity magazine for 12 years in a row.

The thrill of Jaguar athletics

The Jaguars are Indianapolis’s only Division I college sports program. Our student-athletes compete in 18 NCAA Division 1 sports in the NCAA Horizon League, including basketball, baseball, tennis, track and field, and golf, to name a few. When you’re not cheering on the Jags, you can participate in a variety of intramural sports leagues, including basketball, soccer, volleyball, and more.

Right from day one at IUPUI, I was able to get a job. I was able to get involved with the dance marathon here and get my job as an ambassador. I would say everyone has been so welcoming and so friendly, and I had a lot of opportunities just right from the get-go during Weeks of Welcome. I was able to step out of my comfort zone.
