Describe your business in a few words?

Coaching firm for those seeking a well-rounded life with grace, passion and purpose.

What made you take the leap to start your own business?

Since I was a freshman in high school I always knew I wanted to be my own boss, making my own rules and creating on my terms.

What was your background prior to starting your own business?

I was an Executive Assistant at age 17, started my wedding planning business at 22 before retiring and becoming a business and life coach.

Did you always know you wanted to be an entrepreneur?

Yes!

Take us back to when you first launched your business, what was your marketing strategy to get the word out and did it go as planned?

Back in the day as a wedding planner I advertised on Craigslist which is where I sourced my first client. Word-of-mouth is how I begin to receive leads and book jobs. Now as a business and life coach, the majority of my clients come via word-of-mouth referrals, Instagram and organically via Google.

We always learn the most from our mistakes, share a time with us that you made a mistake or had a challenging time in business and what you learned from it?

In the beginning phase of my entrepreneurship journey, I would allow clients to negotiate my rates and talk me down in price. At this point on my entrepreneurial journey, I know the value that I bring and have proven results. I feel confident with my rates and remind potential clients why my services will be what they need in order to elevate and grow.

What is the accomplishment you are the most proud of to date?

I am most proud of the impact that my podcast, courses and content have on transforming the lives of women and their families. The simple tools and resources that I provide have changed the dynamic within families and businesses which is such a huge blessing.

When hiring for your team, what is your go-to interview question? Please share any hiring tips you can share from your experience?

What is your superpower that will be the key to helping this team reach its goals?

How has your business or industry been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic?

Yes! I worked with clients in the wedding industry who were tasked with rescheduling events multiple times. From a coaching perspective, I became busier supporting clients that finally had the time to invest in their business and goals.

What’s next for your business? What can we expect to see over the next few years?

In the coming months we are rebranding and placing our energy into building up the Living Well-Rounded brand and mission via courses, tutorials, resources and more so stay tuned!

What is the biggest lesson you have learned in 2020?

Be prepared for anything!

What do you know now that you wish you knew when you were first starting your business?

Building a profitable, sustainable and respected business takes time, money and a solid team!

How have you managed to stay grounded this year?

Being a mom and wife keeps me grounded. By putting my family’s needs first, I’m forced to remain grounded. 🙂

Do you believe in work/life balance? What are some of your best tips?

I personally do not believe in trying to balance work and life. Personally, my family is always going to outweigh the work that I do for others. Thus, my philosophy is to focus on living your version of a well-rounded life that allows you to focus on what matters most in that season. My tips would be to take inventory of all the items on your plate/to-do list. Prioritize, delegate and delete the things on your list.

What’s something our audience would be surprised to learn about you?

That I really like to have a good time and find it critical to nurture friendships as we get older. Good friends keep us grounded as we grow.

What are your top 3 tips to stay productive each day?

  • Go into each day with a plan of items that you need to focus on and priorities said items.
  • Remove distractions such as social media and email when working on meeting a deadline
  • Batch work as much as you can so you’re not reinventing the wheel each day.

What does being an Entreprenista mean to you?

Being an Entreprenista means gracefully exceeding clients’ expectations, while keeping family and self in the forefront.
