Naz Taylor of Online PR Pro on propelling your business forward
Describe your business in a few words:
Hi Entreprenistas! I am Entreprenista League member and public relations pro Naz Taylor, founder of Online PR Pro (@onlineprpro). We give small business owners the tools, confidence, and clarity to do their own PR and propel their business forward.
I am over the moon to be introducing to you, THE PR PROPELLOR, an online, 3-part educational series, built to give you all the tools you need to shine a light on your business and take it to the next level. I teach entrepreneurs how to effectively get more exposure, raise awareness, increase credibility, drive traffic and improve social engagement without spending much money on advertising.
With 25 years of media experience (as a broadcast journalist, producer, and public relations consultant), I can show you how to activate your reach and consistently grow your audience.
The media industry gives you a voice. I have learned that newsmakers and game-changers—businesses, organizations, or the people within them—can tell compelling stories and influence change from all angles through the media.
The tactics I’ve practiced can be easily learned and I can’t wait to teach you how to turn your business into your OWN public relations success story.
What was your background prior to starting your own business?
Using marketing and communications tactics from over 25 years of experience in the industry, I’ve been able to drive growth and bring attention to causes in every category I’ve worked in: sports, news, and current events, government, health and philanthropy, food, fashion, beauty, music, entertainment, and more. Earlier on in my career, I worked as a writer, reporter, producer, and on-air host for a national Canadian television network, Global TV.
Later, I made the transition to work behind the camera in Toronto’s public relations industry, initially at a high-profile firm, and then for Canada’s national broadcast network, CBC, as a publicist for non-scripted shows like Hockey Night in Canada, The Hour, and Dragon’s Den.
Eight quick years later, I moved back to the West Coast, launched a PR boutique, and had the opportunity to work with incredible clients at a national level.
Did you always know you wanted to be an entrepreneur?
Yes. Always.
Take us back to when you first launched your business, what was your marketing strategy to get the word out and did it go as planned?
I am at the very early stages at the moment, taking the first steps to spread the word.
What is the accomplishment you are the most proud of to date?
My family. Then my work baby – The PR Propellor.
Do you believe in work/life balance? What are some of your best tips?
Yes, communication and organization.
What have you achieved recently that you’d like to celebrate with our community?
A fantastic team to help support the growth of Online PR Pro.
What’s next for your business? What can we expect to see over the next few years?
Content that is going to help entrepreneurs transform their promotional skills and achieve exposure, credibility, awareness, and growth for their business.
What excites you about being an Entreprenista League member?
In addition to my work, the community is one of my biggest passions. A true community is not just about being geographically close to someone or part of the same social circle. It’s about feeling connected to and responsible for the well-being of the group. We all play a crucial role. I am so excited and proud to be connected to this league of talented, successful, inspiring women in this amazing environment where we can learn from and support each other.
