Describe your business in a few words:

I worked for 6+ years as a M&A attorney at Kirkland & Ellis until I decided to follow my passion and start Kanthaka Trainers on Demand. With only a few tabs on the Kanthaka App, you can schedule a highly vetted personal Trainer or Yoga instructor to anyplace you want on your schedule. We are active throughout the US with over 23,000 sessions conducted.

What was your background prior to starting your own business?

Attorney

Did you always know you wanted to be an entrepreneur?

No, nobody in my family did something entrepreneurial. I have a very academic background–a law Degree as well a PhD, and LLM in law–and everybody was very surprised about my career change; best decision ever though.

Take us back to when you first launched your business, what was your marketing strategy to get the word out and did it go as planned?

I started with grassroots Marketing handing out flyers at apartments to achieve proof of concept of why Kanthaka was still bootstrapped.

What is the accomplishment you are the most proud of to date?

Switching from big law to a tech entrepreneur parallel to raising two little kids.

Do you believe in work/life balance? What are some of your best tips?

Definitely, I am very ambitious and hard-working, but to me, my family is the most important. With the right balance every morning I wake up, I am excited to get started again and build something great.

What have you achieved recently that you’d like to celebrate with our community?

We sold over 22,000 Personal Training sessions and a very high profile celebrity trained with us.

What’s next for your business? What can we expect to see over the next few years?

Raising our Series A and hitting 10,000 monthly training sessions. Building a community for women to live a longer, happier, and healthier life.

What excites you about being an Entreprenista League member?

I love supporting and learning from other women to grow together.
