Hi, Katie! Please share a brief introduction about yourself and your business:

Hello, my name is Katie Villacres. I am a multifaceted entrepreneur with a diverse skill set and a passion for creative endeavors. Alongside being a dedicated mom who loves fitness, I have successfully owned multiple businesses. Currently, I am embracing my creative side as the co-owner of Cam Crew AV and Video, where we specialize in the complete production of live events. At Cam Crew, our focus is on providing high-quality audiovisual and video services, tailored to enhance your live event needs. We take pride in our commitment to excellence, ensuring every project we undertake meets our high standards.

Who are your customers?

We service live events, podcasters, live streamers, and course content creators.

What was your background prior to starting your own business?

I am a lifelong entrepreneur currently on my 3rd business, the last of which I sold for profit and is still a successful running business.

What made you take the leap to start your own business?

I have always loved the freedom of being able to create my own destiny and live life on my terms.

What is the biggest challenge you have encountered along the way so far and what have you learned from it?

My biggest challenge so far has been how to grow outside my current network of people. I have learned that I need to leave the comfort of my inner circle and branch out into the world of networking and endless opportunities.

What accomplishment are the most proud of to date in your business?

I am most proud of my collaborations with businesses like Mindvalley Coach and Dharma Coaching Institute. They have really catapulted the beginning stages of my career.

Do you have any recent wins from the last year that you’d like to celebrate with our community?

My most recent win is taking Cam Crew from a video production company to adding Live events and AV.

What’s next for your business? What can we expect to see over the next few years?

What’s next for us is expanding our network and breaking into more local live events here in the Austin; Dallas; and Houston, Texas area.

What is your top productivity tip?

My top productivity tip is to give myself a schedule and carve out daily time for my non-negotiables.

On the flip side, how do you avoid burnout?

I avoid burnout by allowing myself time each day to do something that I am passionate about, which tends to revolve around being outdoors and fitness.

What is your approach to work-life balance / integration?

My approach for work-life balance is creating strong boundaries of the type of work I say yes to and the start and stop times of my daily work tasks.

What is one thing you wish you had known when you started your Entreprenista journey?

The importance of investing in yourself and in the impact an amazing networking group can have on your business.

When hiring, what is your go-to interview question?

My go-to question is asking what type of environment they dream of working for.

Do you have a co-founder? If so, how did you find the right one for you and what are your best partnership tips?

My co-Founder is my husband we have been a duo in business now for over a decade. We work really well balancing our individual strengths and staying in our lanes. This was something however we had to learn in time.

What is your favorite business tool or solution and why?

My favorite business tool has been FB community networking pages. These pages have really helped me grow multiple businesses.
