Please share a brief introduction about yourself and your business:

Originally from Nicaragua, I settled in Texas with my husband and young son in 2014. In the following years, I went on to graduate summa cum laude from Texas A&M-Commerce with a BA in Communications and an M.S. in Marketing. My passion is in marketing and design, focusing on ROI-driven strategies and creating a balance between functionality and aesthetics. In 2020, I started a digital marketing agency mid-pandemic. In 6 months, I was able to scale my agency to 6 figures. As a Latina entrepreneur, I am also committed to supporting women and minorities in business; previously mentoring students through A&M-Commerce’s Venture College. In 2021, the opportunity arose to become owner-partner of Hite Digital Dallas, as well as Co-founder of Hite Creative. Today I am a mother of 2, a wife, and a leader at Hite– supporting all our 22 locations while also growing my own franchise.

What excites you about being an Entreprenista League member?

I am excited about the opportunity of connecting and meeting other female entrepreneurs who are mothers and wives.

What made you take the leap to start your own business?

I come from an entrepreneurial family, so owning a business has been part of my DNA. I found myself at a young age selling anything I could think of. I would go with my dad to his board meetings and join in conversations at an early age that intrigued me at a young age, later leading to my own journey as an entrepreneur. When I became a mom, I saw the opportunity and flexibility of becoming a business owner and balancing motherhood; I believe this was the catalyst of my journey.

What was your background prior to starting your own business?

I graduated summa cum laude with a BA in Liberal Studies and a concentration in marketing and communications from Texas A&M University-Commerce, and later on, graduated with a Masters in Marketing from that same university.

Did you always know you wanted to be an entrepreneur?

Yes, I’ve always been interested in owning a business.

Take us back to when you first launched your business, what was your marketing strategy to get the word out, and did it go as planned?

I joined all the chambers around me and started to join networking events. The first thing I did was make a list of people in my network that I would message to let them know of my new venture. I sent them an email and scheduled calls to identify if I could support them in any way. 6 months to a year prior to opening my business I started sharing with my acquiesce my plans.

What is the biggest challenge you have encountered along the way and what did you learn from it?

Since Hite became a franchise, we have seen enormous growth. We believe we are truly re-inventing the way digital marketing works. We are now building an agency that supports clients around the USA, one of the fulfillment teams supporting our 22 offices is the Hite Creative team, which I co-founded alongside my business partner JC Hite. Since launching, we have doubled our team members and completed over 200 projects just this year. Scalability is not a subject often spoken about and brings challenges in itself. We have had to automize and systemize all our creative processes, which is a complexity in itself since the creative industry is so subjective and changing, as well as pivot the team structure to match the needs of our franchises. This has been the most exciting challenge to date. I am particularly proud of the fact that 100% of our leadership at Hite Creative are females, 60% are mothers and 100% are minorities. I decided to begin Hite Creative in the midst of my digital agency scaling. I quickly learned to prioritize and organize my schedule, so I could also be a present mom. Both agencies are in the best place ever, growing and thriving, but in 2021 two of our best team members found other opportunities. I had to pivot my day-to-day in order to support the team and maintain the revenue.

What is the accomplishment you are the proudest of to date?

When I first started the Creative agency, I was not sure how it would grow, or how fast it would get where we wanted it to go. My first hire was a previous colleague from college. She is still part of our agency, and I am so proud to see her grow into an amazing leader today.

Do you believe in work/life balance? What are some of your best tips?

YES, but work/life balance needs to be something we are always looking out for; especially for professionals who love what they do because we can find ourselves trapped in work and enjoying it. It is important to be mindful and also organize your time, so you have enough time to spend with the people you love.

What’s a piece of advice you can share that you wish you’d known when you first started your Entreprenista journey?

I wish I had a more clear understanding of how to take advantage of all the tools and networking opportunities.

What have you achieved recently that you’d like to celebrate with our community?

Top 20 women in advertising by the American Advertising Federation of Dallas (AAF)

What’s next for your business? What can we expect to see over the next few years?
