Host of ‘The Employment Experience Podcast’ and Attorney, Karly Wannos, on the Perks of Entrepreneurship
Hello Karly! Please share a brief introduction about yourself and your business.
I am a Florida employment attorney at Wannos Law, and I help businesses ensure they are complying with the employment laws regarding their employees for hiring, firing and everything in between. I also prepare legal documents to protect businesses, such as employment agreements, employees handbooks, independent contractor agreements and also through my online template shop. I am also the host of The Employment Experience Podcast where my guest and I discuss all things HR, employment law, management, leadership and best practices for businesses with employees.
So Karly, what excites you about being an Entreprenista League member?
Networking with other female entrepreneurs outside my industry.
What made you take the leap to start your own law firm?
Time and location flexibility, which is special.
What was your background prior to starting Wannos Law?
I’ve been an employment lawyer for 15 years: my entire legal career.
When it comes to marketing a law firm, where do you even begin?
My marketing strategy consisted of social media marketing. The legal field is relatively new to social media, and I thought it was a great platform to share my knowledge and help other entrepreneurs looking to hire employees, navigate HR issues and employment laws and create a team.
So Karly, do you believe in work/life balance? What are some of your best tips?
Schedule everything, especially things that allow you to refocus and fuel you personally, such as time with friends and exercise.
What’s next for your firm? What can we expect to see over the next few years?
More robust, interactive workshops and free legal trainings as well as accessible legal templates for new businesses and those hiring a team.
